PORCH Sacramento

Westside is helping plant a new church in Sacramento's Land Park and Curtis Park neighborhoods.

A new church in Sacramento

PORCH is a church plant sent out from Westside and led by Margo and Matt Frost, part of the Westside family for many years. PORCH is a gathering of people learning to follow Jesus, encourage one another, and walk together in faith, with a hope of reaching students and neighbors from UC Davis, Sacramento State, Sacramento City College, and the surrounding neighborhoods.

The name comes from Solomon's Portico, the porch of the temple in Jerusalem where the first believers met together (Acts 3:11; 5:12). A porch is connected to the house, but it faces outward. That is the picture: a place where anyone can pull up a chair.

Five words

The letters of PORCH carry what the church is about:

How Westside is involved

Westside is PORCH's sending church. While PORCH gets established, gifts are received through Westside in a designated fund called Sacramento Church Plant. Every dollar given to that fund goes to the work in Sacramento, and Westside provides the giving receipts.

Ways to be part of it:

  • Pray for Margo and Matt, the people gathering, and the neighborhoods around Land Park and Curtis Park.
  • Come visit a gathering, or bring a friend who lives in Sacramento.
  • Give to the Sacramento Church Plant fund.
  • Tell people in Sacramento about porchchurch.org.
