Sometimes You Just Gotta Stand
Hey Westside!
Throughout the Bible we are instructed to “advance, go, move forward, look forward, and increase.” BUT . . . there are a few instances where we are instructed to STAND: Like when we are in battle as in Ephesians 6. Or, when we have no where to go like when Israel was trapped between the Red Sea and the armies of Egypt. I believe that we are to STAND against the enemy. People of God: STAND and see the salvation of the Lord!
What are you standing for? A healing? A financial breakthrough? A broken relationship? A terrible workplace situation? STAND! Let God fight this battle for you. Don’t try to force something to happen. Trust Him! I have seen God move time and time again in impossible situations. When all hope was lost and all else failed, the person would not give in to hopelessness and despair but kept trusting God.
Also, I have seen times that someone stood and the answer never seemed to come. (At least in the way we thought it should.) Maybe a loved one passed away when you were believing for a healing. Or maybe you’re still in a tough circumstance. But I want you to know that God is able! “With man things are impossible, but with God all things are possible!”
And as Martin Luther said:
“All who call on God in true faith, earnestly from the heart, will certainly be heard, and will receive what they have asked and desired, although maybe not in the hour or in the measure, or the very thing which they ask. If so, they will obtain something greater and more glorious than they had dared to ask.”
So, I want to encourage you friends to trust God in every circumstance. Don’t be surprised when testing comes. Stand. Face the enemy in the name of Jesus and do not waiver or back down. Trust Him in the most difficult of days. You’ll see . . . He’s there.
2 Chronicles 20:15-17
And he said, “Listen, all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says the LORD to you, ‘Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, FOR THE BATTLE IS NOT YOURS BUT GOD’S . . . You will not need to fight in this battle. STAND FIRM, HOLD YOUR POSITION, and see the salvation of the LORD on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.’ Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed . . . and the LORD will be with you.”
Love you guys and standing with you,
Steve
