What Comes Out When You’re Shaken?

If I shook a bottle of water, what would happen?  If I asked someone why water came out of the bottle they might say “because you shook it.”  But actually there is a better answer.  I would say that water came out of the bottle because water was in the bottle.

What comes out of you when you’re shaken?  When it seems like you’re being squeezed on every side, what is your response?  You see . . .

What comes OUT of you is what is IN you
and what’s IN you is what you WORSHIP.

Jesus said “out of the depths of the heart – the mouth speaks.”  What or Who fills up your thoughts?  For what are you willing to sacrifice anything, any price, any investment of time?  That’s what you worship.

If you constantly give yourself to Jesus, invest in His Word, make room for the fullness of the Holy Spirit, and sacrifice your life daily for Almighty God . . . you will be full of Him!

So when you get cut – you’ll bleed Jesus.

Well, we all have struggles and pressures from time to time.  Here is what Paul said:

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. 9  We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed . . . 16  That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. 17  For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! 18  So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.   2 Corinthians 4:8-18

Fill yourself with Jesus friends – He will never let you down!

Love you guys,
Steve 🙂

Great word. Constantly giving yourself to Jesus and sacrificing ourself daily stood out for me. To be filled daily and repeatedly is what we all need. Thanks Steve

This is what I used in Mexico for both the Juvenile Hall and the Wednesday service; complete with visual aids of crushed water bottles. My variation on the point was that what comes out of the bottle depends on what was put in, so let Christ fill you back up. I used all of James for examples of what to be filling ourselves with. Thanks Steve for all you bring to fill us up!!!Thanks Dave  🙂
